New House!!!

We bought a brand new home in NW Rochester; closing and moving in on May 20, 2009. It is a 2 bed/1bath split level home with an unfinished basement (room for 2 more bedrooms, a bathroom, and a family room). So far, we love our house and have busy with many projects (decorating, landscaping, installing a water softener, building a deck...). Here are a few pictures of our new home!

Yay!

We just received a call this afternoon and Adam was offered a job! He will be working for Northwest Respiratory Services. It sounds like a great job... full time, benefits etc. More details to come!

We Made It!

We finally made it to MN! The movers came to our apartment on 1/19/09 to pack and move all of our things- we have decided that that is definitely the way to go! They were so quick and efficient... it only took them 4 hours to pack and move all of our things! We slept on the floor that night and then hit the road at 4am 1/20 to beat rush hour traffic. We were worried about winter storms but ended up having perfect weather all the way home. Ginger did great the whole trip and quickly made herself at home in our new house. We spent the first night of our trip (1/20) in Salt Lake City, UT, the second night (1/21) in Lincoln, NE, and the third night (1/22) in our home in Rochester. We stopped in Des Moines, IA to have lunch with Rachel's sister, Valerie on the final day of our drive.

Since arriving in Rochester, we have been busy getting everything organized. We are renting a cute little 5bed/2bath house in NE Rochester and are enjoying it so far. Our stuff arrived on Tuesday 1/27 and luckily everything made it safe and sound. Everything is finally unpacked and put away and things are starting to feel "normal". We bought a second vehicle- a '99 Pontiac Montana (minivan)- now we just need to fill it with children! Rachel starts her new job on 2/16, and Adam is still searching for one. We hope and pray he finds one quick. Wish us luck!

Our Last Week in SF :(

Our last week in SF was spent packing and working, but we did find time to do some things in the city. The weather was beautiful that week- in the 70s- so we took advantage of it by walking in the park, going to the wharf, and taking a motorcycle ride to the Marin Headlands to watch the sunset. We will miss San Francisco a lot, but are so happy to be back home in Rochester, MN.

News!

We are very happy to announce that we have accomplished our financial goals here in San Francisco and are now preparing to move back home to MN in late January! We know it is crazy of us to be moving back there in the middle of winter, but we think it will be worth it! We can handle freezing to death if it means being back home near our families. Rachel accepted a position in Hematology back at Mayo Clinic and will be starting mid-February. We are so excited! Mayo is going to pay for a moving company to move us, so driving cross-country should be easier this time (no giant truck to drive). Now we just have to pack...
